I don't want this to degenerate into a Civ4 discussion, but that game I kept asking him what he did that was so special to win and he couldn't answer other than that he just said he hung in there. Basically I was way ahead in the beginning but due to the cap system being way ahead doesn't mean ****. Only the last turns count and he built like 10 cities in the last 5 turns...something that has now been patched from what I hear. MP is pretty much dead anyway and if you go read civ4players forum you'll see everyone whinning about the same **** I did 2 months ago. Everything I have said has turned out to be right. I was ahead of everyone by 2 months in saying it and they said I was full of **** and now they say the same things.

Krill defeated SLD in a multiplayer game, then Aeson (sp?) commented on the saved game, pointing out what SLD did wrong. That got his knickers in a twist.

It's my own fault for allowing Krill to sucker me into that map. He knew he could only win on a map screw and he got it. I spent about 45min before the game arguing with him about the map and why he was so insistent on it. The saves are still there I think. You'll see my explanation and the saves as to why he won. That game is a perfect example of how flawed the game is and why MP is dead right now.

Except for the fact that I'm not the only one making these complaints anymore. Maybe half the MP community sucks and can't adapt to the amazing depth of Civ4's genius? Give me a break, that game is like playing with all the restrictions of Deity in civ2, but with the difficulty of Chieftan.

The most damning thing wasn't your defeats. It was the basic point of your whining: you want "magic keys" so you can win every time. CivIV doesn't provide those magic keys (as it aims for game balance) and that pisses you off. The end.
