  • Is there a "stop sucking so much" option for MS Word?

    With paragraph markers turned on.

The same text, with paragraph markers turned off.

As far as I'm concerned, my options seem to be "start taking blood pressure medication" or "start using LaTeX."

Sweet, I've got the figures more-or-less aligned correctly!

"HAHAHAHAHA," cackles MS Word, "Guess again! What kind of a fool would try to anchor figures to paragraph markers with the paragraph markers turned on???"

There are 22 figures in this paper. I'm not looking forward to this.

Also, look at the sexy way that the figures are smaller with the paragraph markers turned on than they are with the paragraph markers turned off! Sweet!!!!

you know how I do it?

I print everything on and print all figures, then cut and paste

if it needs ot look fancy I then xerox it

and if I have anything big I relearn LaTeX (have learned it 3 times now, will need to do a 4th..)

I'd go the cut-and-paste route, but I've got to turn this thing into a pdf file.

Word sucks (and everything else sucks even more )

I'm having trouble myself positioning formulas.

I've never tried LaTeX, though I *have* looked into it. They can't even make a comprehensible, easy-to-install distribution.

I really hate to see the word suck so misused in the English language.

things that suck are good, not bad.

I agree. I never know if some one is mad that the thing is sucking or if the thing is good because it is sucking.

                  Very confussing.

I need a stop sucking option for MSN. The bastard keeps signing in repeatedly when I've specifically told it not to (My connection is all over the place)... but the real kicker is that I've closed the entire program and I'm still getting messages come through from people! **** off!
