      God bless America.
The plane is travelling at over 500 mph. It's not going to look like a Boeing on a crappy video camera!
Cake and grief counseling will be available at the conclusion of the test. Thank you for helping us help you help us all!

actually most of the offices in the Pentagon arent that comfy. Different commands and offices wanting so badly to be close to the center of power in DoD, rather than in some more distant office in Crystal City, or Fort Belvoir, they try to squeeze as many people into the "five sided nut house" as they can. Which means lots of folks in rather tiny, windowless, cubicles. A tradeoff many are willing to take for proximity.

and note, uniformed military are not unionized. But most DoD employees are not uniformed military. There are civilians, from PhD defense experts to janitors and cafeteria workers (though many at all levels are contractors, not employees)

I quess even the "worlds largest office building" just ain't enough? Can they not expand it? (Course, it would not be "pentagon" anymore... More floors?)

Not enough at all. Theres huge numbers of DoD HQ types in places other than the Pentagon. Lots of the cost analysis people are over at Crystal City. And plenty of other people. Defense Logistics Agency which used to be at Fort Cameron, is now at Fort Belvoir (Fort Cameron is now townhouses). NavSea, which used to be down in Maryland, was moved to the old Navy Yard in DC sometime ago. Thats just off the top of my head. I dont think you realize how big the Department of Defense is.

As for the pentagon itself, theyve actually recently rehabbed it - one of the reasons casualties werent worse on 9/11, IIRC, was that the plane hit a side of the building which had been rehabbed, and so the outer wall was stronger than the old walls. I dont think it would be easy to add floors. In any case Crystal City is walking distance. Though theyre now talking about moving offices from Crystal City to Fort Belvoir (about 20-30 minutes away by car) cause the private office buildings in Crystal City arent secure enough for post 9/11 standards. Not a real popular move, esp with folks who live in the opposite direction. Esp given traffic. Some local pols are opposing the move. If it does happen, there will be talk of extending the metro to Fort Belvoir, I suspect.

not sure if you can add floors. D.C. has height restrictions on it's buildings for some reason. Though the Pentagon is actually in Virginia I believe.

In either case, with todays' technology is that really necessary. and for security purposes, is that even a good idea. These ass kissers are just going to have to learn to kiss ass on high ranking generals and civilians via the telephone or internet.

That portion of the Pentagon had not been fully moved into either.

So that stuff doesn't overshadow the White House, the Capitol, and the various monuments.

Ah, then they need to build downwards.

Serb these people believe that the buildings were brought down in under two hours by the intense heat from quick burning jet fuel, but they also believe this same intense heat allowed a passport from one of the hijackers to magically survive the blast and be found quickly amongst several acres of rubble by the authorities. The black boxes supposedly didn't survive the fire, but the passport did. Talk about ludicrous beliefs.

"And why would the military need to orchestrate an attack on the Pentagon, when the Pentagon attack resulted in pretty much only the casualties aboard the plane, whereas the WTC strike was more than sufficient to elicit any response the conspirators might desire?"
Serb's link makes clear that the Bush Administration had something to hide. Mebbe it was a warning shot by some ETs? Who knows? The exopolitical backgrounds of 911 and iraq are not well understood. I recommend this here for a first read:

                                ....

This paper examines how the need to gain unfettered access to Iraq's extraterrestrial (ET) heritage has played a critical role in influencing US foreign policy in the Persian Gulf region ever since the Carter administration. The paper analyses how clandestine organizations based in the US, Europe and Soviet Union/Russia have historically maneuvered amongst themselves to gain the most strategic advantage in having access to and exploiting ET technology hidden in Iraq. The paper argues that the need for a diplomatic solution to the recent international crisis over Iraq, resulted from the desire of clandestine groups in Europe and Russia to restrict access to these sites by US organizations that have grown rapidly in power and displayed an imperialistic tendency that leads to much anxiety among their European counterparts.

The paper furthermore claims that the planet is experiencing the use of 'exotic weaponry' between clandestine groups struggling amongst themselves over how to share access and control of ET technology in Iraq, while suppressing the true nature of the conflict to the general public and most elected officials. The paper also argues that an eventual post-war agreement to rebuild Iraq under an UN mandate will mark a new phase in the efforts of clandestine organizations to coordinate their efforts in exploiting Iraq's ET heritage. Finally, the paper claims that the US triumph in launching a military takeover in Iraq generates Angst among European clandestine groups concerned over the increased power and imperial pretensions of their US counterparts.
