  • They need not move many percentage of their shopping to other stores to negate any gain from making non-Christians feel more welcome.
Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?

    • Like Christians aren't going to spend in similar numbers in Walmart and Target?

These are few fundy wackos... who probably don't spend much in the first placec.

Walmart and Target will win, and I'm glad. Screw those moron fundies! Be tolerant. Acceptance and tolerance of other faiths

      • I'm not so sure Imran -- fundies can be just as blatantly hypocritical as everyone else. While they lambast places such as Target, they probably turn around and still shop there.

Anyway, for me, Happy Holidays or Merry Christmas can be appropriate -- I don't see anything wrong with either one and I'm comfortable using either phrase, myself.

If someone is that much of a crying baby to profess offense at either phrase, I don't care to associate with such people, anyway.

          • If a person is Christian, I wish 'em a Merry Christman.

If they aren't Christian, I wish 'em Happy Holidays.

If they aren't either, I wish them a Happy Festivus for the rest of us!

I don't worry whether or not they're Christian -- if they become offended because they are, or they aren't, I don't want to associate with them.

              • What do you do with people who are just offended because of who you are (and no, not because of the gay stuff)?

                      • Isn't this essentially a nonissue?

The government can only really ban christmas desplays on its own property can't it? It can't stop a private business or citizen from being in a christmas spirit.

I don't see how this will stop Christmas lovers from running around screaming merry christmas at the top of their lungs.

                          • What's silly is that several popular Christmas carols contain no mention of Christmas whatsoever. Why isn't there a campaign to stamp out 'Jingle Bells', 'Frosty the Snowman' or 'Walking in a Winter Wonderland'?
