Oh, and what happened to you friend Asher? Did you kill him and steal his iPod?
The cake is NOT a lie. It's so delicious and moist.

      Xbox360 sounds SWEET!

I also heard about the downloadable demos (available to everyone... ie, XBox Silver)! That's awesome... you get to try before you buy and it couldn't be easier .

I honestly don't know why they rushed to be first if they couldn't even meet the demand from the reserve orders.

Looks cool, but I'm going to hold off purchasing until:

          1. Better selection of games
          2. Games are more optimized for this hardware
          3. I purchase an HDTV

I really don't see the point in dropping 400 at this point before the above happens, but I do appreciate people dropping the change and testing it for 5-6 months before I get one (if I ever do)

The five dollar arcade games do sound pretty sweet though...

These problems all apparently come from the GPU overheating -- some of the Xboxes don't have enough thermal paste of a good enough connection to the heatsink, so the GPUs overheat and start artifacting, and eventually crash.

It's easily fixed by opening it up ( ) and applying thermal paste of your own to ensure it's a tight fit, or just exchanging it at the store, or through Microsoft under warranty.

                    :yawns:

No games on the XBox really appeal to me right now.

Talk to me in a few months, when they get newer games, then we'll see.

Then again, I'm perfectly satisfied with the three games I play now.

                      To quote myself

Is it a problem inserting disks when its vertical?
Does it have a standard DVD drive or a laptop DVD drive, with a clip that holds the DVD's in place?

Turns out the biggest problem of crashes is likely the powersupply.

                        Xbox 360 crash fix found

                        It involves string

By Nick Farrell: Friday 25 November 2005, 07:52
A GAMER fed up with his new Xbox 360 crashing every 20 minutes has fixed the problem by raising the power supply off the ground with some string.

Dan, from Duluth, or 'goldeneyemaster' as he is known, told the game spot forum here that he thinks the main reason that the xBox 360 freezes is because the power supply overheats. The solution is to lift the power supply off the floor and allow the air to circulate better around it.

Another simple method involved getting a box with no cover and putting the power supply on the edges.

As a result, he was able to leave his machine on for a stonking seven hours without it freezing up.

Other gamers to the site report that the idea works for them too. Many of them note with relief that since it is the power supply that is clearly the problem, rather than the box itself, it should be fairly easy for Microsoft to replace. µ

My PC already plays CivIV; why would I need an Xbox for?

Chances are I couldn't use my monitor with it anyway.

There's an official VGA cable/adapter for the Xbox 360.

It's neither, but it's most similar to a standard DVD drive.

There are two little plastic lips on the "right" side (when horizontal) or "bottom" (when vertical), that prevent it from falling out. The edges of the CD boundary thing in the tray are also deeper than normal.

                                I suppose that's good.

                                I still won't buy it.
