The free high-def music videos and movie trailers are nice, too.

Just downloaded Franz Ferdinand's "Do you want to".

The system is impressive but I'm not buying it. Saving up for what I hear is the ultimate power in the universe, Sony PS3.

Maybe a new digital camera...perhaps a digital SLR.
The Nikon 70S is pretty sweet, and the Canon 20D isn't bad at all.

The Rebels are both solid cameras, but have fewer options if you're into advanced techniques.

imagine a killzone game with 45 gigs (blueray) of disk spce filled with bitmaps, lighting, and eye candy versus 10 pitiful gigs of halo (on dvd, not even hddvd)
I would rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal labotamy

I'm picturing it. Halo comes out on top; it's frigging Halo dude.

well, ile admit im talking potential and not actuality...

but 45 gigs is 4.5 times more than ten gigs, therefore i give the general advantage to ps3... which will make toast and do your taxes

How is that 45 gigs going to meaningfully improve the quality of a game?

lets be honest, for as important as gameplay is, graphics can greatly add to the experience of playing a great game. For example Final Fantasy X was an amazing experience. Tales of Symphonia (gamcube) had an amazaing story and interesting battle system but cheesy cel shaded graphics. The tales graphics and sound were inferior though it had a better story and comparable gameplay. However, FFX is the better of the two games because the production values nearly matches that of a big budget hollywood film. tales lacked in graphics and sound, therefore it also lost out in sales, reviews, etc.
45 gigs of space allows programmers, who put in the effort, the ability to make long, involving, highly detailed games that rival movies in production and story. the ps3 offers 45 gigs of that while xbox offers only 10 gigs of that

The most fun games I've played have usually been under 10MB...

And I'd think one could have 45gigs of cell-shaded craphics, and one still would not like it, if one does not like it.
I've allways wanted to play "Russ Meyer's Civilization"

Yes. What I doubt is the scale of the impact the 45 gigs is going to have on the graphics.
