On my dad's side, one line definitely dates to 1635, another line on my dad's side possibly to 1618, but there's a gap in known records around the mid 17th century, then one shows up in the same area as getting married, having kids, etc., but nothing about birth, arrival, etc.

On my mom's side, late 1700's on her dad's side, early 1700's on her mom's side.

My great grandpa lived for several years in Liverpool, having left Lithuania, before heading to Philadelphia. My dad used to say this meant we didnt have English blood, but we did have Holiday Inn blood. Though I dont know if there even are any Holidy Inns in England.

I know that I'm a rebecca nourse descendant, and she was an old woman when she was killed in Salem (witch trials). That was in the 1690s, and I think she was born here, so I probably go back to the mid to early 1600s on my mom's side.

On my dad's side, it's 20th century italian immigrants.

I have family that goes back to before the conquest in Kingston dating to 1752. Before the United Empire Loyalists.

Not too shabby for someone who isn't french canadian.

prior to 1810 none of my european ancestors had left europe. The most recent european immigrant ancestors I have arrived in 1898. The rest of my ancestors have been here a long long time

you can trace them through parish records if you know the home town and any post-imigration name changes.

Seeker - trust me, my mom's done it, if it can be done (concerning geneology, I feel I ought to clarify). We know where in Italy he came from, and indeed we even stayed with our distant Italian relatives while we were there.
