Houston was about to say good night to the Cards, and Pujols said not so fast. That ball was CRUSHED!

And the Cards come back to win it, with 2 outs in the 9th!

We are going to Game 6 in the NLCS folks!

I think I want Houston to win the NLCS...

St. Louis' lineup scares me more than the Astros' does, and I still think the Sox pitching is better than either of those teams.
To us, it is the BEAST.

At first glace, it looks like Chicago is going to win this. Their pitching is as good, if not better than, the Astros, and their offense is far better.

I'm saying White Sox in 6. Two LOOOOONG curses knocked out in back to back years.

                    Lets see

                    1918 to 2004
1917 to 2005 (if it happens, as we all know it should)

So by this pattern, the cubs should win the WS in 2014.

Sadly, Cub fans would find this acceptable.

                      Because it's before "never"...

maybe it isn't about the exact years... maybe it is just the old school teams that haven't won it in ages...

so the Cubs will win it next year!!!

                        hey, I need some hope!

                        BTW, White Sox in 5...

I'm not going to pick a winner just yet, but this will be a war of attrition that goes the distance. Hope you guys like pitching duels, 'cause you're about to get 'em.

Nah... as long as you have Dusty killing your pitchers' arms, you'll never win the big series.

                              Congrats 'stros.

Let's hope that the umpiring is much better tahn in the 2 lcs's. What a friggin disgrace during both (not that it really changed the outcome).

Ozzie Guillen led MLB in use of his starting pitching this year

And Dusty had nothing to do with the starting pitching problems. That is a really dumb statement Imran.

You don't seem to know much about Cubs baseball.

Kerry Wood has had a career of injuries, long before Dusty Baker ever got to Chicago. And Prior's problems have not been related to overuse.

Besides, Dusty tried blaming Wood's and Prior's injuries for the Cubs' poor start in April and early May, but yet, Wood and Prior both pitched 4-5 starts each during that span and the Cubs were still bad.

Dusty's problem mainly lies in his inability to strategize well. He also does not like to use younger players and feels a responsibility to give lesser skilled veteran players more playing time. Case in point, Matt Murton was hitting everything in sight when he was first brought up. Yet Todd Hollandsworth couldn't buy his way out of the lineup, despite hitting below .250 while Murton was hitting above .450. Murton will probably start next season in left field.

Middle relief and the leadoff spot were what killed the Cubs last year. Those are the two positions the Cubs GM Jim Hendry needs to address in the offseason. Also, Corey Patterson needs to probably be moved and a replacement needs to be found. They have a prospect, Felix Pie... but he is having injury problems. Johnny Damon is available, but will be expensive. Jerry Hairston is probably not the answer in CF. At SS, I would like to see Rafael Furcal, despite the rumors of off the field issues (DUI's). Also, Brian Giles is available. He would look nice in RF. The Cubs are going to have a lot of money to spend, and word is, the Tribune is going to go well over the $100 million mark in payroll this year. Not counting the Sosa money, the Cubs payroll was $87 million last year. Next year, they don't have to pay Remlinger, Hawkins, Burnitz, probably not Garciaparra, the Sosa money is gone. So they will have lots of money to spend.

if the Cubs can put this lineup on the field:

                                Damon
                                Furcal
                                D. Lee
                                Giles
                                Ramirez
                                Murton
                                Walker (or Ronny Cedeno)
                                Barrett
                                P

then a World Series could happen
