    The weaseling continues...

“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

A big rolleyes for you. Saying I want to review the information is hardly weaseling. Please continue saying stupid things though.

I trust the BBC and the BBC said the deficit when down. However the BBC puts the figure at around $60 billion while DanS puts it at $110 billion. That is why I felt DanS was inflating the numbers and everything had to be reviewed carefully.

I still lost by the agreed upon rules but mostly it was because of an accounting trick. Only $4 billion was spent of the nearly $100 billion of Katrina relief because they spent the current budget on disaster relief funds while reimbusing the agencies after the end of the fiscal year. Basically it is an accounting game to hide the true dificit and pass it off onto next year.

The accounting gimmicks have zero to do with you losing the bet, since you lost the bet so badly.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

If it makes Oerdin feel any better, I knew he was taking a sucker's bet.

I lost but not as badly as you claim. The net lending figures will show this when they come out.

Why don't you just admit that you lost badly? It wasn't even close to close. It wasn't gimmicks that did it. Not even the destruction of a major American city helped you all that much. You just didn't know what you were doing when you made the bet.

You have a problem with admitting big losses, Oerdin. You got your head handed to you.

The deficit is indeed smaller so I lost. It is not the massive lose you are claiming though.
