  • You know, I was born in the same city as Snoop. I think that means I have "street cred." Yeah.

I look at my home town, Columbus, which has good white collar jobs in banking and insurance. A half hour commute will get you a really nice house (let's say 2,750 square feet or 275 square meters, 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms) and some land for $300,000. Still about $80 per square foot ($8 per square meter) as a base price for new. I guess the equivalent would go for about 4x in some parts of California, if you could find it. I challenge you to find this in any other place in the world besides the good old US of A. Maybe Canada a little bit. Maybe select parts of Australia.

Kings living like paupers in paradise or paupers living like kings in the real world? Choices, choices.
My oldest Daughter lives in Suwanee GA about 30 miles up I-85 from Atl. Her house cost them 175.000 two years ago. Two stories with a full basement finish, 4 bedroom 3 bathroom. 3000 sq ft. Out here in my town, it would be worth about a million. In Palo Alto maybe 1.5 mil.

OOoooh, bad news. The bond issue was originally supposed to be on the Nov. 2004 ballot, but it was put over until Nov. 2006 because of the budget crisis. Well, the vote has been put over again until Nov. 2008. There's going to be another transportation ballot issue in Nov. 2006 instead.

2008?!? I could crawl to San Francisco by then!

        • Actually later than 2008 -- according to you, that is when they VOTE on this. But once they have voted on it, and it does pass, it could take how long after that to actually complete the construction of the system?

            Hey Smiley,

I live in a townhouse in the "Villas at Park Merced" (right next door to San Francisco State University).

Or, are willing to accept a smaller living space.
