Oh crap, I just found out that there will be no trains between Enschede and Almelo at all for the rest of the weekend, that's making it very hard for me to get out of Twente... I would have to rely on a bus service, but with these weather conditions that's not looking too good, and they also have crappy time tables so I couldn't stay very long even if I did make it to Utrecht. You should probably count me out for tomorrow... again

Oh wait, I can still travel over Zutphen and Apeldoorn, if Syntus restores their train service tomorrow. It'll add an extra 30 mins to my trip but it's doable... if there are any trains tomorrow (I heard they're dealing with massive power failures). I don't know when I'll have to leave then though, the NS site is down. Probably still early.

Nothing but rain and wind over here but it seems to be lessening. Going by the weather report, things should be better tomorrow.
Skeptics should forego any thought of convincing the unconvinced that we hold the torch of truth illuminating the darkness. A more modest, realistic, and achievable goal is to encourage the idea that one may be mistaken. Doubt is humbling and constructive; it leads to rational thought in weighing alternatives and fully reexamining options, and it opens unlimited vistas.

Then your biggest problem is probably going to be getting to Schiphol to begin with. Today many flights were cancelled and all other ones delayed. I doubt they have everything sorted out tomorrow...

Well, let's hope train services are reasonably on time, and the weather doesn't get any worse... I'll be there, weather and train services permitting.

It's an unbelievable mess...
I wanted to to go Amsterdam instead tonight, but the tracks were blocked.
The big train-information board in Rotterdam was blank: The only train running appeared to be the one to Dordrecht. Traffic to Utrecht and further south then Dordrecht was completely impossible. To Amsterdam the traffic would start up again...slowly.
When people asked if they would have to spend the night on the railway station, officials said it was quite possible they had to..."post reported"Winston, on the barricades for freedom of speech

The situation in the west of the country seems to have mostly returned to normal, but the east is still a mess (so I'll prolly be late for the meet, but I'll leave early to try to compensate). Except for Schiphol, that's still a bit of a mess as well (though not as bad as yesterday), so I hope Snotty arrives okay.
