1.0.0.0 is definitely not the address for www.cisco.com.

    Yeah, I figured as much.

    nslookup www.cisco.com

    Code:
Server mygateway.ar7 ( I never called my ADSL box that )
    Adress 10.0.0.138

    Non-authoritative answer:
    Name: [url]www.cisco.com[/url]
    Adress: 198.133.219.25

Nope, it resolves it as 1.0.0.0 again.

Do you have to login with a user name and password to make the internet connection work? If so, through which device, the PC or the ADSL Modem?

My ADSL modem is always on. I've configured it to login to my ISP. When I turn on my laptop, I instantly have internet. through my LAN.

You may be forced to share the internet connection from the PC - find the "Local Area Connection" for the PC and right click on it and select properties. Then click on the advanced tab. You will see the option "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's internet connection"

don't do what I just said. It seems that the wireless access point is causing some very strange behavior on the laptop. It is not picking up DNS stuff properly. You may have to manually give it an IP address (10.0.0.3) and manually enter the DNS server (10.0.0.138).

                  WAIT WAIT WAIT, CORRECTION:

When I turn on my DESKTOP, I have internet.

Now, what do you mean by this:

You may be forced to share the internet connection from the PC

pay no attention to that stuff, just do what I said in my previous message.

Ok, but will that mean that I can only connect with the laptop to the internet if my Desktop is on?

Try turning off your wireless stuff and run the tests again.

So it's not the wireless equipment that's messing with your LAN. Let me think about this.
