So far, NK zombie tower is by far the most elegant building here. I so wish they'll fix it whenever DPRK crumbles.

You know, knowing North Korea, that's probably finished

Here's another angle. Notice the subtlety and how well it blends in with the other buildings.

Around here, probably the worse building is the Alfond Arena:

a lot of the bad architecture mid to late last century was inspired by futuristic space travel visions

The roof on that reminds me of a miniaturized version of the Denver airport terminal, but, uh, way smaller.

It also desperately needs some more trees, but that's about it.

It is the buildings on both sides that look blah.

None of these are that bad. If I'm ever in the country side here again, I'll take some photos of the multistoried apartment houses that line many of the highways. The sad part is that these buildings are not that old and are still being built in this hideous style. And they're often pink.

                          It's a fine building. I like it.

2001 had some really interesting stuff, even though we now know that it isn't what spaceships will really look like in the future.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

I don't know whether this freakshow near my hometown is genius or the ugliest office building in the world.

The Longaberger Basket Co. office building.
