Yeah, until the Department of Homeland Security started arresting people for driving down the street to buy gasoline as a gas station many border towns were effectively one town. It's weird how there's no signs and the two tiny towns have merged into one town with the grocery store on one side of the border while the gas station in on the other side, but, DoHLS wants to arrest people for illegal entry for living as they've lived for 150 years in that town.Originally posted by KrazyHorse

Ease of travel across borders.
Of course, people will argue that this gives illegal immigrants free rein, but for we Yurpeans, it's great.

2000: 2.6%
2001: 2.3%
2002: 2.6%
2003: 2.8%
2004: 2.3%
Bit on the high side, but not shockingly so. Italy had far worse early nineties.
(btw, Eurostat is some other great EU achievement I'm benefiting from)
