Actually, I can't think of anything the EU has done for me, personally.

The European usage of the word "fronteer" drives me crazy, thats a BORDER!

The US and Canada need to have EU-style open borders and free trade between them.

                    On a more serious note:

The EU has done little for me, neither for anybody else.

If anything, it's been the member states who have done a lot for the EU, and all of the profits and benefits reached have been due to cooperation between the member states.
There is not really a thing as the EU that does things, and unless there is a decent parliament (you know, the legislative kind) in Brussels, it better stays that way.

VetLegion, don't expect the EU to do anything for you, you will be disappoimnted.

Well .. I think the advantages are more spiritual than real. For example things got more expensive whan the opposite was expected. However that's not really the fault of EU, it came with adopting the Euro and when the selling folks just decided to 'round up' the figures up. However, this is not directly the fault or the idea of EU. MOre like some folks benefitting that is not the people.

Advantages hmm.. well, for one I don't have to change currency when I go to EU countries within the Euro zone. And also it makes easier to compare prices, also now with the internet shops booming, it comes in handy.

I also like the IDEA that it would be pretty easy for me to move into other EU country and work. So that's a good thing, I feel this would be, for me, the biggest great potential thing. And also vice versa, people within the EU region would get work here more easier and move here, whcih I think is good. Basically more action going on in our region, that I see as positive.

But it's more spiritual right now, but there's lots of future potential in it. It could be workign very well some day. I can't dismiss that fact.

What else.. I think it sets more .. clear fronts and borders, I think that's good. We don't want any transparency with the poor people and their crap countries.

But what has EU done for me, I mean in practice. Mm.. I don't know, nothing or very little.

I'm old enough not to expect mana from the sky. I'm a supporter of EU integration, but I try to base it on facts and figures and not idealism.

So far the only ones verifiably profiting from EU seem to be - tourists.

I don't see synergic effects in other areas.

The interesting thing is here is that you've corrected Adalbertus's English (who isn't a native speaker) but missing an important fact, his spelling was correct and yours is wrong
