What kind of sandwiches? How big? Ditto for the Quesadilla?
unless the bread was whole wheat, that seems a diet very poor in fiber.
yesterday I had:
two fried eggs with 2 pieces of toast
a Tuna salad sandwhich
and orange
Two bowls of a vegetable low mein thing I cooked up
All the bread was whole grain of course, thought not the noodles (I hate most whole grain noodles). And I lost half a pound while sitting on my ass the whole day yesterday.

do you know how many kgs of fresh fruit and vegetables could replace that ice cream?
I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.

I think a mistake many people make is that they think in manners of limited time periods and short term goals. For example an averagely disciplined person might go on a diet for a month and lose some weight, feel better about themselves and then it's back on the wagon again.
If you make an effort to try and change some basic things in your permanent lifestyle you will be more successfull in maintaining a long term healthy body. For example.
Stop eating butter, after a month you won't miss it.
Never eat white bread.
Eat low fat dairy products instead of regular fat ones.
Do not eat fast food more than once a week.
Do not eat candy, cookies and crisps more than once a week.
Stop drinking soft drinks, if unable to do so drink the ones without sugar. Drink water.
Stop eating sugar bombed cereal for breakfast, replace with oats or muesli.
Do quick reading of nutritional index of products when shopping for food, some items are packed full of "hidden sugar". For example low fat fruit youghurt, buy regular low fat youghurt and mix in some berries and nuts yourself instead.
Learn to differentiate between good and bad fat, most products give information on the amount of total fat that consists of saturated fat.
It's candy. Surely there are more important things the NAACP could be boycotting. If the candy were shaped like a burning cross or a black man made of regular chocolate being dragged behind a truck made of white chocolate I could understand the outrage and would share it. - Drosedars

What I note is a carbohydrate heavy diet. While whole grains is good, you are probably simply not getting enough fiber from vegetables and fruits on a regular basis. The thing is that bulk plant matter fills you up, besides all the nutrients. Spinach and sprouts are both very good vegetables- nutrient heavy. Brocolli, Carrots, and Tomatoes would also be good.
One of your difficulties is probably eating out so regularly. Restaurant portions are pretty generous, and in general their stuff had more fat and sodium than home cooked stuff. Is there a reason in particular you eat out so often? Would it be possible for you to cook in more often?

A pint of ice cream a week won't make anyone fat, if that is their only indulgence.
Everything in moderation. That is why most diets fail- because as Footie Mad said, they are temporary and forced changes to habit.
If you know you like ice cream, just eat it, but not all the time, and not in vast amounts.

I don't really know how to cook
fairly often, when I eat out, I get dishes heavy in cooked veggies (in particularly if I am eating at a healthyish restaurante)
other times I get what is fast (like tonight, two bean burritos, I would never eat at Taco Bell but for the speed thing)
or eat where my freinds do (usually the worst, like I eat a whole plate of cheese sticks when I eat with my freinds at red lobster)

Not knowing how to cook is one of the easiest things in the world to remedy. I mean, I can cook, and no one ever taught me. As long as you know how not to burn the kitchen down, cooking is a confidence issue. Hell, I don't have the confidence to bake, or roast a turkey, but for every say cooking, no problem.
BUt if you feel that eating out continues to be the main thing, one possible tip is to ask for half portions, and if they don't have that then when you get the food, devide it in half, and make sure they come immidiately and put in in a doggie bag. That way, you eat, probably the right amount, your money goes further, and by having that extra out of the way, you are not tempted to eat it all.

Obesity is a lifestyle problem for, I'd wager, as much as 90% of obese people. The combination of less and less physical activity and too much food, and of the wrong types is to blame.
The thing with obesity is that it looks like it's destined to become the biggest cause of death in the developed world. Obesity is a serious public health issue, and as it is most people really don't understand how damaging obesity is in the long term.
