Soups OK but you still lose a lot of the texture and flavor by overcooking them. Give me mine rare and barking.

I LOVE my pets dearly. In fact at ACS I carry the name and picture avatar of one of them...

During a disaster like a hurricane who the hell stops to ask where is fido is he in the house or swimming down the swollen creek bed?
        I don't understand your point.

Pets provide love and companioship for a lot of lonely and disabled folks.
        Granted.

If this is whatever it is saves humans and pets what is the big deal??
If it is a choice bewteen your neighbour getting in the boat or your pet......?

They way you guys put it is that the folks are throwing life lines to a dog before the human.
        See above.

My thoughts if the dog is found first and the human located second attempts should be made to save both the human first then the pet.
Space and resources being unlimited - sure. Both have limits so the humans come 1st.

I don't have a problem per se with people staying behind to be with their pets. It is an irrational choice but I'd let them make it. That said, I would not come by a second time to rescue these folks.

Btw - Who here thinks their pet would die for them given a choice?

As least my dog isn't a drain on taxes, leave the jobless, druggie scroungers until last.

In brookline, MA there is (or was) a Chinese restaurant called "Ta Chien". I must say that always brought me a smile, French gender be damned.

I would take turns swimming alongside the boat with the rest of my family, if it meant we could save our dogs

I would if I could afford it. If I couldnt afford it, and my dog got refused transit with me, I dont know, but Im pretty sure I would take the risk and stay rather than abandon my dog. Thats the governments choice, the rescue expense is whats truly replaceable, not me and my pet.

Anyway, its got to be a drop in the ocean to provide for pet rescue as well. its probably more economically viable to rescue everything that could die, the stray pets are only going to end up polluting the place with their corpses otherwise

Anyone who puts animal life over human life has split from reality. There is something wrong in the priorities.

Refusing to leave because you have an attachment to a [kid] that you, quite frankly, could largely replace [by having sex with a member of the opposite gender] is a self-defeating idiocy, and if they want to purge themselves from the gene pool, more power to them.

So they're emptying out Death Row in your local jail, rescuing the inmates. Should a multiple kiddie rapist/murderer get saved before my lovely little Naz, who's never molested a child in his life?

I think it's you has the wrong priorities my friend!

Geez Louise!! Can you come up with a more extreme scenario?

If it is a choice between a neighbour I do not know and my pet.....the neighbour gets the spot.
