  • Wow, I expected to get flamed...

    About Cameron's education? or Provists's?

About Provosts'. He went to Oxford as well...hence the exchange a few hours ago

What I want to see is real change in the Conservative party - and change must mean change , what we can't afford to think is 'let's shore up the core vote and one more heave will see us win' - I Want the conservative party to be relevant to all people. I don't think we can set targets on change in the party.

Yeah, The Tories have to change, just to get more of the votes. I Would love for Cameron to open the Conservative party up to more people, as well as making politics more accessable to more young people.

Cameron will almost certainly do this better than Davis would have done.

We will just have to wait a short while before we can comment on his methods. The knifes will almost certainly come out then though.
You just wasted six ... no, seven ... seconds of your life reading this sentence.

Interesting place Cameroon in West Africa - it used to be a German Protectorate called 'Kamerun' before it came under the wing of the French after WWI.

They have a pretty good football team too called the Indomitable Lions IIRC, the ageless Roger Milla http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/06/en/p/cp/cmr/milla.html led them to glory in Italia '90 reaching the Quarter-Finals before being beaten in a fantastic game against England.

I know other stuff, like lakes that fart CO2 killing thousands etc.

So I think it is highly commendable that you are supporting this interesting African country...

      • The underlying principles behind Conservatism - Personal freedom and responsability, greater autonomy of services, lower taxes and a freer economy overall - are all fine, but we need to think about how the party has given out the wrong message for the last decade.

very strong message about figuring out the wrong part

We need people from broader backgrounds in our party, all-women shortlists are NOT the answer - the answer is encouraging more of these people to Join the party and stand (in elections) for us.

        new tactic
        overwhelm them with numbers

We also need to evaluate some of our positions and how they are relevant to modern britain ; Abortion, Gay Marriage, the role of women just to name a few.

        very good

The Future is bright, the future is Conservative.

I think you need to move to Virginia and join Pat Robertson's Christian Coalition to pick up a few fresh ideas

He's a public schoolboy, so has almost certainly participated in non-consensual homo-erotic activities. He's probably taken cocaine. His wife used to knock around with the rapper Tricky and has tattoos. He looks slightly retarded. He's an urban cyclist. He wants to re-introduce National Service.

          • The first politician better than Blair I've seen in a long time Viva Cameron! Loved the way he gave him a bashing in PM Qs!

            • William Hague used to absolutely batter Blair at PMQs but the public didn't like him.

Cameron's a great politician, the Conservatives do finally have an electable leader. Now they need some electable policies.

I think dour old Gordon Brown could suffer compared to Cameron, nothing to do with policies (unfortunately) but because he's younger, better looking and more dynamic.

Good opposition is very important... but I doubt they'll come out with anything worth voting for (from my 'biased' left wing point of view)

Indeed, apologies to British Cameroonians the world over...

Just wondering, is Cameroonian a British Cameroonian.

In which case, sorry Cameroonian for ever inferring that you might be a French Cameroonian when you are quite clearly a British Cameroonian for supporting Cameroon - sorry Cameron.
