I wonder if the Democrats will rediscover their testicles and give the President hell for the next three years. No confirmations!

Ah yes, Playboy, that magazine of unbiased political commentary

There is more to the magazine than pictures. When you get older and your libido starts to slow down, you might notice.

Heard a truly tasteless joke today.

Rehnquist actually died four days ago; it just took until last night for FEMA to find him.

--"because of whats going to replace him"

What scares me is this line (from several articles about it):

Possible replacements include Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales
--"How long does it take to appoint a new one (ballpark figure)?"

Depends how much opposition there is. Given that Roberts, O'Connor's replacement, hasn't gone through yet, and they've had to dig back into his high-school writings to find stuff to complain about, I bet it takes months.

                            --"Maybe Thomas for Chief Justice"

That would be fun, if only for the spectacle it would provide. Imagine all the democrats twisting themselves into pretzels trying to oppose Thomas as they try to make it clear they're very much in favor of having a black chief justice.

The Atlantic has a couple of good SC bashing articles in it this month.

You really are an idiot, aren't you. The SC is the strongest defender of our liberties we have.
