Who have they blown out this year that they weren't supposed to? Yes, MSU got a win against Notre Dame and just lost to Michigan. But the only teams they've "blown out" are Kent State, Hawaii, Indiana, and Illinois. Not exactly worldbeaters... Hell, not exactly average teams either.

    • How can any of you seriously rank Notre Dame third in the nation? They're a two-loss team for crying out loud...

And speaking of two loss teams, how can people consider them THAT much better than Ohio State?

And how does Guynemer list Miami behind BOTH OSU and ND?!

        • IMO, both Penn State and Miami are better than ND. ND and Ohio State are comparable-quality teams. I would rank ND-OSU 5-6, but could just as easily rank them 6-5. So my top 7 is...

          1. USC
          2. Texas
          3. Penn State
          4. Miami
          5. ND
          6. Ohio State
          7. LSU

          • After whumping the Sun Devils, UCLA now has the next two Saturdays off before facing USC. WTF is that all about?? This will make up fat, lazy and self-psyched out. We should play somebody...and that somebody should be Oregon.

I don't have an opinion about the rest.

                      • DanS.

And I wasn't talking about just this year, Imran. For years now, MSU has been predictable only in being unpredictable.

Why ND ahead of Miami? I find their losses much more impressive than Miami's. Likewise with Ohio State. Miami looked terrible and sloppy in an ugly game with a badly overranked Florida State. Ohio State was edged by Texas and Penn State; ND came within a gnat's fart of beating USC, and lost an epic rivalry-game with a then high-flying MSU.

Miami has only one truly impressive win; hell, I'd go out on a limb and say that OSU's losses and ND's loss to USC were both more impressive than Miami beating the Hokies.

That's INSANE (IMO, of course ). They were unlucky against Florida State, and dominated that game that they lost, or else they'd be undefeated as well.
