For 7 years straight, this guy was better at cheating than anyone else. I guess that is something of an accomplishment.

I bet at his next press conference he says, "I never knowingly took any banned substances!"

That would be too similar to Virenque's defense to be taken seriously.

            1 - Deny everything
2 - Create reasonable doubt about samples tampering
3 - Call O.J. to see if he has a few tricks that i could use
            What?

well that defense has been the classic response from Major League Baseball players in America

from Barry Bonds to Palmiero to Lance Armstrong

                This crap AGAIN

He's retired now and not once, NOT ONCE did he test positive despite being tested randomly year round for the last 7 years. I'll need more than some French journalists suppositions.

What's the story here? Were the authorities in on some grand conspiracy? How else could a journalist show a positive test that eluded all the regulatory bodies?

                Leave the guy alone.

We could leave him alone, yes. Let him die in his sleep within the next decade or so from acute organ failure as a result of his actions.

Sava: If I felt you really knew jack **** about Lance Armstrong, I might care more about your opinion, but as usual, you're bereft of clue. Your stupid comments about cycling in the other thread confirm this.

Nobody knows all the details of the split, but there are certain facts you can't escape: Kristen said it was a long time coming, and the reasons cited for the split are all hers. She acknowledged strain on the marriage due to both the cancer treatment and Lance's international career (in particular, she didn't like having to cart their kids around the globe so they could see their dad). However, both she and Lance both stated that the split was amicable, which certainly doesn't jive with the notion that he "dumped her" for another woman. And I've not read one bit of evidence whatsoever that Lance was involved with Crow or any other woman prior to their split. THAT is your dumbass bald assertion.

I'm not a Lance groupie by any means--I was hoping Ulrich and Basso would give him more a run for his money. But this story from the French media should be taken with a heavy dose of skepticism for several reasons:

-It's a secondary urine sample from 1999 that's been in the hands of a third party for six years.
-It's only being matched up with Armstrong through a photograph.
-They've had a solid test for EPO since 2001, which means 5 times he either didn't dope and performed just as well (and better) as when he was doping or he's got a new drug that nobody's heard of yet (which is pretty damned unlikely).
-It's a French rag that has been hating on him nonstop, and they're the ones who purpotedly did the testing.

So as of yet there isn't remotely enough evidence to conclude Armstong's guilt in this. If there ever is, he should, of course, be stripped of his 1999 Tour title. But what we have here so far isn't close.

Remember that german-spanish Muhlegg, winner of 2 gold medals at the Salt Lake Olympics before being caught at the anti-doping test was NEVER caught before the Olympics, so either it´s an amazing luck or someone knows how to avoid doping tests very well
I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.

"They have been out to get him in France for a number of years," Indurain was quoted as saying on the website todociciclismo.com on Tuesday.

I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

You should come out for a ride some day with some cyclists. lets make it short-- say only 100 miles through some little bumps . . . we like to call them the Rockies
