I'm no specialist of religions, but I think the greatest concurent to Jesus was not Zeus or Wotan, but Mithra.
Of course one of the most important competitors to Jesus, was "Yaweh" in his Jewish form - lots of Roman converts to Judaism (and indeed that opened the way to Christianity to some degree, especially the folks interested in Judaism but reluctant to take the, er, last step
