Is There a European Bible Belt?

I knew vodka was historically popular in Finland and Sweden but why Norway? If Norway is on the list then why not Denmark?

Does this have to do with Norway being part of Sweden until around 100 years ago?

I wouldnt say that religion plays "an important role in politics" in Greece.
For example the only party that is openly christian, in the last election got only a bit over 3% of the vote.

However i would expect that church-going wise, Greece probably is on the same level as the catholic countries, ie possibly most old people go to church and are believers..

replace "vodka" with "hard liquor" and it makes more sense. that way scotland (whiskey) can be thrown in too. it's all about climate.

as for the bible belt, I don't think there is one. more like lots of small bible freckles randomly scattered across the continent.

You know, without Christianity most of you guys would be living in cultures that worship Zeus (Jove) or Wotan (Odin). In your cultures boys who didn't show a promise of sufficient martial skills would be marched out into the woods before age 10 and left for the wolves to feed on. I'm no specialist of religions, but I think the greatest concurent to Jesus was not Zeus or Wotan, but Mithra.
