Space is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind- bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to space.

Odds are a huge fraction of our posters would not be here today. To be fair I admit I'd probably have been in that number.

My dad was a pharmacist. who worked every other weekend (necessity, cause people cant plan their prescription purchases, you know?) He got weekdays off to compensate - since I was in school, that meant he got a day off that I couldnt spend with him - jolly, that was.

Mithra was doing well in the empire, but I guess theres some question if Mithra would have won, absent Christianity. Among the Germans, I dont think Mithra was making headway at all.

Of course one of the most important competitors to Jesus, was "Yaweh" in his Jewish form - lots of Roman converts to Judaism (and indeed that opened the way to Christianity to some degree, especially the folks interested in Judaism but reluctant to take the, er, last step )

Modern man calls walking more quickly in the same direction down the same road “change.”
The world, in the last three hundred years, has not changed except in that sense.

I'd welcome Canada. The US doesn't have a good enough record on human rights. There are some countries in the world with essentialy European cultures, so those could join in a century or two.
