Hey Hueij, I always wondered, is the plan to eventually reclaim all the submerged land all the way to the island chain in the north?
No, sorry. The island chain (Waddeneilanden) is part of a UN ecological thingy (I really should go to bed, even my basic English skills escape me now ) called Wetlands. And all our magnificent plans of reclaiming the IJsselmeer are put on hold indefinitely.
If you want to know how we shaped our country in the last 2-300 years just do a Google search on the map of Holland.

Within weeks they'll be re-opening the shipyards
And notifying the next of kin
Once again...
Actually I visited Holland twice, stayed in Dronten, it's in the newly reclaimed area I think. I learned it was 6 meters below sea level and thought it very cool, if somewhat worrying

Well I remember making a poll about mandatory religious education some time ago, and Finns not only had it but (those who replied) seemed to enjoy it immensely. So I figure, they go in the belt.
The one enjoying it immensely was VJ. Judging Finnish society by him is roughly like judging American society by native american lesbian separatist vegans.

I'd say Norway probably adheres more to religion (or rather, religiously originated customs/practices) than Finland, or any Nordic country.
In some respects, a good portion of Norwegian society is not very 'liberated' in terms of tolerating alcohol, pornography, borderline blasphemy in an artistic context, allowing various forms of public entertainment on Church holidays and so on.
Western and southern Norway is our local little Bible belt. Hopefully the best of it will spread.

Iceland is often mentioned as the most socially conservative Nordic country, but I don't know about religiosity in particular.

It's true, but I would think it has more to do with being located relatively isolated, having a very small, homogenous population and relatively little personal interaction with the rest of the cultural sphere than with religion being especially dominant.
