      Everyone survived this???
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?

Wow, 100% survivors, but before we toast how well the plane was built we need to find out why it crashed.

                Toronto emergency crews

Interesting that this happened almost 25 years to the day that a mircoburst caused the crash of an airplane in the U.S. That crash helped aviation authorities understand the power of microbursts, which might have caused this crash.

This crash reminds me of a crash in Hong Kong in 1999. An MD-11 flipped upside down, caught fire during a typhoon and yet there were only 3 deaths while about 300 passengers got out alive.

Very impressive. Kudos to the flight crew for helping to get everyone off the plane quickly.

The most dramatic sound byte was the one lady when asked how she got off the plane, she said she jumped, and when asked "through a window", she said, "no through a wall"

Rescuers sped to flaming jet in 52 seconds

                    CBC News

Pearson International Airport fire trucks reached the scene of Tuesday's fiery crash landing just 52 seconds after the Air France plane touched down, the airport's fire chief said Wednesday.

"By that time, approximately three-quarters of the passengers had come down the chute and into the field," said Mike Figliola, fire chief with the Greater Toronto Airports Authority.

The speed of the response was matched only by the speed with which Air France Flight 358's 12-member crew got the 297 passengers away from the burning wreckage, Figliola said at a news conference. Everyone was out within two minutes, he said.

"The crew did a great job," he said. "This is what they're trained to do and they did it perfect."

Asked about reports that one or more of the aircraft's emergency chutes failed to open, leading to most of the minor injuries that 43 passengers and crew suffered, Figliola said: "Everybody got off, that's the bottom line. ...There was no loss of life and that's the bottom line for us."

The plane's co-pilot was the last person off the plane, airport officials told reporters gathered at Pearson Wednesday.

At that point, the rescue team's life-saving mission turned into the job of putting out the fire, which left the fuselage in three large pieces.

"Fifty yards away from the aircraft, my face was burning," said Figliola. "The fire was very, very intense."

Twelve hours after the accident, which occurred at 4:03 p.m. EDT Tuesday, the wreckage was still smouldering, he said.

The Transportation Safety Board has begun its investigation into the crash landing.

Air France has offered its full co-operation in the probe.

true enough but still bottom line no deaths ...i will take minor injuries over death anyday......read somewhere (in dutch) that the plane might just landed to far down the run way...this might explain the power out because the pilots put the power back on to make a fly by when they figured it out and that was to much to fast and the engines stalled...

The 401 was partially closed causing a traffic nightmare, partly because survivors were running onto the highway while they were in shock/stunned/dazed/confused.
God that would suck. You survive a plane crash only to be killed by a car minutes later.

So they're going to have an accident investigation, and yet prior to this you've already decided who's guilty and why.
