Well, the highway has nothing to do with the crash. Nada. It just distracts people now. Based on the pics and what has been said, it never touched the highway. So no, doesn't seem that there's any crashed cars, etc.

An Air France jet with as many as 200 people aboard has skidded off a runway while landing at Toronto's Pearson International Airport, bursting into flames and sending thick black smoke pouring into the air.
There is no word on the condition of the passengers and crew members on board the A340, with the plane still burning an hour and a half after the 3:50 p.m. crash.
The Air France jet burst into flames after skidding off a runway at Toronto's Pearson Airport Tuesday.
The airplane was trying to land in bad weather when it skidded off the east-west runway just metres from one of Toronto's busiest roads, Highway 401.
"There was quite a downpour. The visibility was really bad, with lots of lightning," said John Finlay, a CBC News journalist who was at the airport at the time of the accident.
The jet ended up in the Etobicoke Creek ravine, a small valley at the far west end of the airport, the aircraft's fuselage tipped down and its tail in the air.
"An Air France plane landing on Runway 24 Left went off the end of the runway in the area of Convair Drive and the 401 area in Mississauga," Peel police Sgt. Glyn Griffiths said at about 4:30 p.m.
He said the number and extent of injuries was still unknown.

Rescue crews trying to extinguish the flames.
The incident happened as most operations at the airport were grounded because of the severe thunderstorms that had been reported in the area.
Rescue crews are on the scene.
The Greater Toronto Airport Authority is holding a news conference at 6 p.m. to give details about the crash."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

Interestingly, apparently, most people survive the crash in plane crashes, but then die from smoke inhalation (because while they survived, they are generally too injured to get out on their own). So, if they can get out quick without breathing the smoke, they'll make it.
According to my uncle, an airline steward, no plane has successfully survived a water landing. All that stuff about floatation seats and life vests are just to make you feel safer. "This plane came off the runway. It slid off the runway and into this gully," said Toronto radio reporter Leah Walker, who witnessed the crash. "It's come off with probably a great amount of force into trees and the creek."
She said a fireball engulfed the plane.
"There are hundreds of emergency vehicles here to do whatever is possible to be done at this point."
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

The press conference is right now on-going. It's not bringing up anything new. Well, at least anything essential. They don't want to comment regarding casualties or survivors. Instead the retarded journalists only seem to be interested in looking for someone to blame, by questioning the airport security regarding the red alert status and if they were cautious enough. It's just soooo stupid.
Like they would have had the time to think about all that yet. But it's thanks to the 24/7 news cycle, etc.

I wouldn't at all be surprised to hear that there were hundreds of emergency vehicles on hand.
