The different death tolls may be the result of networks arbitrarily picking when the 'modern IRA' began, CBC was reporting 1800 IRA caused, 2000 Brit and Loyalist, with wounded reported as 'lots'.

Well I wonder what they will do now? Ian Paisley was his usual diplomatic self (i.e. raving mad dog) so I guess the loyalist side still figures they have something to be on about.

            No Irish person is British.

Britain is Wales, Scotland and England.

The UK is Britain plus the northern Ireland.

Ireland, or Eire, is an independent country.

                    I have an idea.

The Troubles were a terrible period for Northern Ireland, and it created much suffering in Britain as well. Like it sometimes happen when a catastrophe befells a family, the Brits have given the modest name "The Troubles" to something much worse, as in not to even strengthen the woes by giving them an actual name. But everybody knew what was behind this modest name. And "The Troubles" weren't a joking matter anymore.

These words are a sensitive chord, and by biggrinning with them, you are hitting it. By insisting, you are double-whammying on it.

I'm not a rosbif, so I may be wrong. But it sounds like a possible explanation.

It would be like making fun of Greece's period of dictatorship from '67 to '74.

As a British man with English, Irish and Scottish ancestry in 3 seperate branches, I'd say it's a damn fine day, as an English man, as I am, I'd say the same.

Who knows, Ireland might for once be united, and a bunch of largely Scottish settlers ceased to be backed by the Conservative Party in the modern UK.

As I clearly favour unification as an English Brit, and one who has had flat-mates from both factions within my flat at the same time, whilst the IRA favoured bombings and murder of innocent lives, we all watched the news together after a bomb, I await the Unionist terrorist groups to do the same thing as the IRA did yesterday.

The Muslim Community is now producing terrorists in the UK after 50 years of settlement, it took 300 years before the Irish and British settlers got them, however, at end of empire, most British settlers packed up and went "home", only farmers in africa and Scots in Ireland stayed in large numbers.

The UK is inviting 110,000 people a year from those former 130+ nations, the difference is they will never leave once here.

The British never integrated in large numbers within the communities in Empire, we already see this in London, and after 40 years in it, I don't see it happening in my working class group, If anything, at school we integrated more back in the 70's, now as numbers of each community is so big, there isn't the need by each national grouping anymore to integrate- even at school there was already 50,000 Iranians, most of which lived in my old borough.

Europe is surely storing up problems for the future, as most have it in all major cities, bombs don't worry me; that does, especially if a single community goes a bit AWOL to their neighbouring communities.

My basis is: If you are born in Britain then you are British, end of story.

If you attack the nation or people, you are not only a enemy but a traitor to your people.

                            Oh, sorry all,

I want the Unionist lot to announce the same- better still, also announce the existance of them, and the link they also share like Sinn Fein does.

Getting rid the the crimminal side they all have is going to be hard- and they might both end up as mini-mafia's as a structure is much harder to get rid rid of than simple bomber-makers and guns.

The rest of the world will never understand Ireland Ireland like a British man, and the British man will never understand it like a Belfast man will- whatever side he's on. At least the Americans have largely stopped paying for the bombs we got in London before this latest lot of nutters, I'll drink to that.

Chances are a small minority will splinter off and continue to cause some trouble. Hopefully the oranges won't try use this as an excuse to screw things up.
