In this case the standard of proof was risible. He was a Dago wearing a puffy jacket, and horror of horrors carrying a Walkman, who happened to live near some terrorists, and who also like many people freaked out and tried to run when confronted with a bunch of yelling, gun-wielding maniacs.

Gun-wielding maniacs? They shouted "Stop Police" numerous times according to witnesses. I would imagine there was a delay between him falling and the shots being fire (again, backed up by witnesses) so something must have set off the people trained to deal with such situations.

i think the important things have already been said. an innocent man is dead. killed by the very people that are supposed to protect him. but in the name of some vague security threat you are willing to see this as collateral damage.

you even attack people who have said nothing but reasonable things, like showing restraint when you shoot.

i hope your daughter never gets caught up in a mess like this. security isn't worth a damn if you get shot by law enforcement officers. you're just as dead.

Neither is security worth anything if the person next to you triggers a bomb.

If I have to chosse between the risk of being blown up and being shot by police, I will certainly choose the police. They at least only shoot at you if you act like someone that may kill others.
