There's nothing new about that whatsoever. It's quite common to utilise the SAS or SBS on the streets both in set-piece operations and general usage.

No it doesn't. Innocent people flee from the police all the time. Sometimes they have reasons, sometimes they are just experiencing an acute stress response. Just because people behave suspiciously is not just cause for emptying a magazine into their heads.

If the officer believes the suspect to be a threat to life and he refuses to obey instructions, and ther is suspicion he has a bomb, what is the police officer to do? Let him go? Ask him to the local café for a cup of tea so they can talk it over? Forcibly open his jacket possibly setting off a bomb? What ever the man did to set off the officer that caused him to shoot him, ther is no evidence to support a claim that it was done pre-emptively or with racial prejudice.

Who's doing that? I'm questioning the adequacy of their evidence and the presumption that looking foreign and strange and running from the police entitles them to shoot you.

Good for you. Now what about those other people who say the police did it because he was dark skinned and that it was racially motivated?

In this case the standard of proof was risible. He was a Dago wearing a puffy jacket, and horror of horrors carrying a Walkman, who happened to live near some terrorists, and who also like many people freaked out and tried to run when confronted with a bunch of yelling, gun-wielding maniacs.

Let's shoot everyone on such standards of evidence. Hell...
