if you think they target our actions in Iraq, rather than our lifestyle, I think you will be deeply disappointed.
They target our lifestyle, because that's where we live. We are terrorized when we can't go to work or out for a show or a bite to eat. But our lifestyle is not the reason they attack us, despite what some would have us believe.
It's much easier to simply say, they don't like the way we live. Then we don't have to debate or examine the complex issues involved nor face the reality of our countries' policies in the 3rd world, and specifically the Muslim world.
Keep in mind though, that just because the terrorists have some valid points, it doesn't make their struggle valid. Their methods invalidate their struggle.

I thought that would be a safe assumption if they had to shoot the guy point-blank in the head 4 or 5 times that he had something explosive on his torso.
But that's just me.

Yes, everyone who gets shot by the police deserves it. It´s good to hear that you have such confidence in the police force, Asher...
I often think they should shoot more people, especially when hippies block the road and such.
Really though, that's a strawman. A man running from police who challenged him in a subway station a day after previous bombing attempts in a subway station ought to know what's coming to him.
There's a terrible precident set there, and police can't afford to f*ck around taking chances when you're dealing with (potential) bombers in a crowded area.

The Brits very rarely shoot anyone, seeing how their police don't carry guns.

Another passenger on the train, Anthony Larkin, told BBC News the man had been wearing a "bomb belt with wires coming out".
"I've seen these police officers shouting, 'Get down, get down!', and I've seen this guy who appears to have a bomb belt and wires coming out.

I would be worried if Ludd or Zoid would be the ones doing key decisions like that, because sooner or later they would end up first trying to confiscate the explosives, but then having a bunch of people blown into pieces for making it very easy for a suicide bomber to cross the wires, when he notices he's soon going to be arrested and it will be his last chance, no matter how many victims he gets.
At times you just have to use that firearm you have as a police. If they were not meant for use, then we could just as well remove them as useless.

That actually applies to regular Bobbies and British Transport Police. There's however other officers with firearms available. Also on short notice you get abit more robust stuff on-site.
They have it, but it's just not too visible.

Correct, but they have to be called to a situation, as opposed to American police who gun people down, then plant guns to make their shootings legit.

I forgot that American police are gun-totting maniacs just looking for an excuse to kill people.
All of the crazy posters come out of the woodwork during tragedies, isn't it grand?

and I figure that if he could to blow himself up, he would of done so instead of running from the police anyways.
There was very little information in the article when I read it, all that was mentioned was that police where chasing someone, they tackled him, and then shot him. No specifics.
And frankly, without knowing the details, it's just as safe an assumption that the police where abusing their power.

So a natural assumption is the British police just wanted to shoot someone without provocation.
My whole point was it's telling that someone so antisocial will automatically assume that the police randomly shoot people for fun. Like che does.
This is the problem with most lefties -- you guys have some good ideas, but you're just f*cking CRAZY! It discredits what would otherwise be nice, popular ideas; like universal healthcare.
