I say, he deserves an up or down vote, not a filibuster that many of the others Bush could have picked would have warranted.

. I wonder why people think that as soon as justices make it to the Supreme's they go WOOO, now I'm changing everything! They still believe in precedent and 'upholding the law'. They are judges in a common law system! Their entire legal training focused on precedent.
After all, when you say something is 'settled law', you've set the bar really high, saying it is precedent and you aren't going to overrule it (that's kinda what settled law means).

Well if he does what Ben thinks he'll do and when asked about abortion says he'll challenge Roe, then I think no explination would be needed for that.
