no, lance just crushed everyone. damn dude. he picked up like 1 minute on basso, more then 2 on ullrich and kloden. this tour de france is over. its just a matter of lance finishing the rest of the race.

Rasmussen isn't a good time trial rider, so this is number seven for Lance.

After finally watching a replay you can see that Kloden was ordered to stay back and help Ullrich. Clearly T-Mobile feels Ullrich is still their man. After the crash in the previous stage, this might have been a mistake.

How strong is Kloeden in a time trial? IIRC, he's not as good as Ullrich, so protecting Ullrich may be a good investment now.

Interestingly enough, Walter Godefroot promised some attacks from T-Mobile the coming days.

              They'd better!

But if that's gonna be anything like the last few years, that means Ullrich will attack in the last kilometers and take a whopping 5 seconds back!

I don't expect a whole lot to happen until the weekend.

"Vino" is 3 minutes ahead of the peleton now.

Since this stage ends on a decent, it doesn't seem like one would be able to attack very well at the end.

Vinokourov wins the stage and takes over a minute back against lance. all the other notables finished with lance.

armstrong is still over four minutes ahead of vino, and maintains the yellow jersey.

Lance had four teammates with him at the finishing line. He looked very relaxed throughout the stage.

yeah, they used azevedo today extensively. hincapie and yaroslav were there also. there was no need to go out there an blow his tires out on the toughest stage of the tour.

they are pretty much done with the alps (only two mountain stages, which is kinda crap. 2.5 i guess if you add the stage before the rest day)

6 guys dropped out today, one guy didnt start, Jens Voigt, the guy who was in first two days ago, came in behind the time cutoff and has been dropped.

the tour has shed 32 people so far, about 15% of its complement. Fasso Bartolo and Lampre have both lost three each, and CSC has lost two (which kinda cramps them, they have less domestiques to protect and go back to bring the food forward)

CSC is the only one really screwed by abandonment. Basso still has a chance at the GC.
