There is forum etiquette and you like many don't ever follow it. This is why I rarely post here anymore (if at all, excluding this thread). So sit down and shut up.

Well at least molly is consistent. A consistent retarded idiot. Go ahead and ban me but some things have to be said. It is not like I post here that often anyways (this is the first thread in a long time, and in fact the only one). He is the biggest fool I have ever seen here. His posting contribution here stacks up to ****.
Good night and think about the troops who are fighting for you. Maybe if you weren't such stupid socialists you would realize that. Happy fourth of july for all those who defend the troops!

You know, if it doesn't even contain any humor, pushing the button just makes you a jackass.
As humour is such a personal thing I'll let your inaccurate observation slide. But I would point out that one 'Poly poster found my post amusing or humorous, even if you didn't.
And no, I'm not referring to me.

I think the primary secular argument against gay marrage is that, if you define marriage as more than the union of a man and woman, where can you realistically draw the line? Why is polygamy not allowed? What about incest if neither party can bear children?
I understand the logic of this argument, and while I support gay marriage I'm not sure how I feel about polygamy, non-procreative incest, etc. I do think it's kind of silly to think that marriage between a small percent of a small percent of the population will destabilize traditional marriage.
Despite being a cynic and pessimist and all, I also think that there isn't enough love in the world, and any time that two people want to commit to one another and try to spend their lives together, we should give them our support.
I also say this as a married man who doesn't want, and won't have, kids. Yet, I still think the union of two people, even if they don't have children, is a generally stabilizing force.
Something has to be done about divorce, though. It should be harder to get married, and barring spousal abuse, harder to break the marriage. I think the ease with which folks in the US (don't know 'bout other nations) can enter and leave marriage destabilizes and undermines the institution far more than a few thousand gay marriages ever can.

Honestly, what's wrong with polygamy? I can see incest (The mandellian disadvantages and our innate ability to repel close relatives instictively; I'll have to look up on Wiki) as being a form of "unnaturality", but not much on polygamy. If a man wants to take 12 wifes or vice-versa, what's stopping it?
And there should be a parenting license.

Never understood this "where do you draw the line" logic. Right now (or not, in some places), a line is drawn at anything past one man and one women. How does moving that line one increment make it any more arbitrary or less stable? It's like saying that the speed limit is 100km/h right now, but if we raise it to 120km/h, then surely it's going to have to be 200km/h.

It's the 'logical extension' fallacy- it's like saying that introducing a policy of lenient sentencing will encourage people to commit more murders without actually bothering to make any valid logical connection between the two.
I mean if gay men and lesbians have the right to marry their partners of the same sex, where will it end ?
People marrying their same sex pets ? Rioting in the streets ?
This kind of filth and debauchery?

King Solomon the wise was a Polygamist- I always wonder why fundies rant against Polygamy as being "non-traditional" when in fact its as traditional as marriage comes.
The fundies have no one to blame but themselves. When marriage is a contract between bloodlines, to consumate alliences and economic ties by blood, then you can argue that it must be a couple capable of reproduction that does it.
But when you define marriage romantically (two people in love) then what is your arguement for demaning those two people be of opposite sexes? Marriage in America today is defined romantically, specially since the extended family in this country is so weak and splintered, which can be seen simply by the need to use "extended" when refering to cousisn, aunts and uncles, grandparent,s nephews and such, while in much of the rest of the world those people are instantly defined as Family.
