    ....or terrorists?

Only one group has turned the U.S. from a creditor to a debtor nation, put us into a crushing national debt, caused the world to hate us and is responsible for the majority of corporate corruption and damage to the enviroment.

    I'm from NY btw.

Some of the same Americans who want to take away the rights of other Americans are propagating the argument that we need to fight for freedom in other parts of the world.

      Try figuring that one out.
A lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.

I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

I have a theory about how instantaneous news media followed about a century later by round the clock news coverage is the direct cause of the decline of American democracy. It is a weak theory and needs some work.

Thats only one part of it.... there are many other parts, such as the fact you can't tell people what to think but you can tell them what to think ABOUT as well as the fact that if you lie often enough about the big stuff, the little lies get through. There are alot of other factors too.

It is nice to know news and talk radio personalities in the U.S. are starting to resemble the nazi air minister-after all, they takes his advice.

                  That's true.

I like how CNN runs those online polls, and they give you two choices, so they have already framed the debate towards those two options.

It is sad that I hear people say all the time, "well politicians lie all the time, who cares?"

Nah, what is more important is what the media CHOOSES to cover. All of the media latch onto a few issues and THAT is what we hear about, thus what we think about. The media also does not cover COMPLEX issues because they don't sell as well. That rules out anything that is well, complex. There are lots of things which are important, however they are not simple. When was the last time you see a newspaper article about the national debt, trade law, the feds changing the interest rates and such?

News is dumbed down for mass consumption.

                        Well, yeah.

This phenomenon started about 20 years ago really.
