I hear stories about people who literally have blinding headaches for years on end. If that was me I'd put a bullet in my brain.

Isn't there some sort of surgical procedure against that? like they saw the brain in two, or something?

You could always try drilling a hole in your skull to relieve pressure. Supposedly the ancient Egyptians et al did that for headaches. Or maybe that was tumors. I forget.

              Me neither, not any more.

But Verres, what is the deal with your liver? You mentioned an OD. Do you mean this damage was a one time thing, or had you been heavily drinking and doing heavy drugs for a long time which caused the damage.

But I'd agree with JohnT that this is a blessing. You're going to have to start eating healthier, excercising and taking supplements to heal your liver. And while you're doing that, and not drinking, I think you'll find that your state of mind will change and that you're not so depressed anymore.

              Good luck

Apparently the result of many untreated OD's over a period of years. If I hadn't ended up in A&E this time I'd be none the wiser. Alcohol probably did it's fair share of damage too, though I wouldn't have said I drank more than a lot of people my age.

Really sucks for your liver Verres

Hang in there. In time, the doctors might cure/regenrate it

Edit: Here's the quote I got after my post:

                    • I'm sure you can cope without drinking, if you have self respect

Sometiems I feel like there's been damage done to my liver. I definitely used to cope a lot better with alocohol then I do nowadays, being a lot more hung over in the mornings after when I never used to get any hangovers at all. Had one overdose at 19

I think it's a short term solution only.

I have had extra pressure up there for about a year now. You can lower it with appropriate medicine, but it comes back.

                          • That OD was untreated, too. does it make a sense to see a doc now? and tell him what?

If you are worried, they can run a quick blood test and let you know if there's any damage. Probably take about a week if you get it done at the docs, but should put your mind at rest. Depends very much on what you took, how much, what state your liver was already in, what you weighed and about a million other things. But its easy to find out.
