  • Oh and England vs USA? Good to see some of the young talent. Was actually a pretty decent game. 2-1 was a little flattering to us I thought.

Tonights game is live on BBC. Woo.

I've nothing against Everton but they aren't going to win the CL in 2006. It's more about the story reported in the media here (if it's true?) that there was a press release on the FA website from 15 months ago saying that if Chelsea or Arsenal won the CL and didn't get a qualifying spot then they would be put forward and the fourth placed team would play in the UEFA Cup.

If that is the case then what was good enough then should be good enough now. As it is the FA are trying to get an extra English club into the competition for next season and they will simply blame UEFA if it doesn't work.

I don't think much of UEFA for being stupid enough to not forsee that one day someone was going to win but not qualify for the next season but I think even less of the English FA who should stop ******** their secretaries and actually do some work for a change.

      • i don't think the FA are prepared to make everton miss out, especially because last time everton qualified for europe they couldn't enter because of liverpool.

        • like i've always said, 5 places.

BTW did you know it doesn't matter who the FA recommmend for the competition, UEFA can still over rule them and put another team in (won't happen thought)

          • Not according to UEFAs own rules about competition qualifying (that I linked to) they can't.

              • everton might not win, but they would miss out on millions of pounds if they go somewhere.

                • Yeah, and those millions of pounds may be vital for the resurrection of Everton football (ie, the springboard).

As for US-England, nice to see the kids. Though the one thing that was evident is that none of the US's kids can freaking CROSS the ball! Jeez, Louise! And without Eddie Johnson, we don't have too much scoring power. McBride is ok, but his strengths are when someone can actually get him the ball in the 18.

The next game should be fun as well to watch!

                        • 3-2, robert green looked a bit uncertain, our defence (apart from ashley cole) was a bit low quality all game to be honest. michael owen hatrick though, great stuff

                          • "Outside the Lines", an American sports news show had a story about ManU and Glazer, and MAN, the ManU fans before the FA Cup were crazy!

                              • Who actually was listening to the talking heads? I was interested in showing the protesters and the people who were at the FA Cup.

And if the Glaziers said anything at all.
