Well, I just note that both China and Vietnam are going the same direction. I also note that Soviet communism never really introduced capitalism. Neither has Cuba. There must be something different about Asian communism.

But it also does raise the issue of whether communism has to evolve in order to survive, as all commie societies that have not evolved seemed to have vanished, save for the Cuban experiment.

    • Of course a communist government/system would have to evolve -- any kind of government/system that does not evolve will not survive.

      That's a given.

        OK.

But if you view what happened in the USSR as "evolution," then all commie societies evolve either into fascism or into democratic capitalism. They never evolve as claimed by Marxist theory.

        • So? Human history has too often shown that the way things are theorized and the way things actually work out, do not necessarily mesh together.

Good, Mr. Fun. I think we finally agree on something.

As opposed to the turgid conservative mythologies we now have?
Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

Of course Ned is wrong, they don't evolve into those mentioned - they quickly change into either a totalitarian state ruled by an elite or into someting feudalistic where a single peron is the absolute ruler.
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

No doubt. If one starts with the Roman Empire as the most "right wing" government ever, the trend clearly is to the left as more and more protections for the average joe are introduced.

Mythologies? And just what is the proper term for communist lies and propaganda that they promote as history?

No, they start that way. The evolve into less harsh regimes of some kind.
