  • All Hail the Glorious People's Revolution in Vietnam!

Yes, it was thirty years ago that the people of Vietnam finally prevailed in their thirty year war against the imperialist running dogs and finally overthrew the last remnents of colonialism, i.e., theSaigon regime.

Um, I am all for honest, objective historical study of America's intervention in the Vietnam War that shows all of the warts.

But the communist regime in North Vietnam had plenty of warts as well.

So you think we should point out America's flaws on July 4th?

On the American Experience the other night, they played the Fall of Saigon. It was particularly interesting. I had always believed the Neddite lies that it was was the NVA that broke the peace accords and restarted the war. In fact, it was Thieu who launched an offensive in 1973, which broke the cease fire and resulted in the resumption of hostilities, leading to the fall of Saigon less than two years later.

It certainly was glorious. The 4+ million civilian casualties are my favorite part.

I'm suprised you would consider the Communist sucsess in Vietnam a good thing, Che, considering what the communists did with the country afterwards. Having another fake-commie country which practices capitalism and abuses human rights severely probably hurts the cause of communism more then it helps it.

Well they did beat the hell out of the Khmer Rouge, so that can be considered a positive.
