      Another good site:

Areas of focus include Nigerian 419 Advance Fee Scams, ATM Scams, Auction Website Scams, Black Money Scams, Counterfeit Cashier's Check Scams, Counterfeit Money Order Scams, Romance and Dating Scams, Fake Websites, Identity Theft, Lottery Scams, Investment and Ponzi Scams, Phishing Scams, Roommate and Renter Scams, Victims Compensation Fund Scam, Work from Home, Employment and Secret Shopper Scams along with other forms of internet crime and fraud.

      Hope this helps.

What exactly does that mean? All I can tell from the OP is the guy cashed $10,000 worth of them. Did doing so require him to "endorse" the money orders?

Uuhhh, yes, that is how you 'cash' or otherwise 'negotiate' (assign) any commercial instrument. I take it you have never cashed a check and signed it on the back.

i used the word 'vouch' in an earlier post, but 'endorse' is probably better. the bottom line is, he signed it and presented it and the buck has to stop somewhere.

Before you run for office, you should stop posting here and pay to have all reference to you deleted from these servers.

This seems like a good thread to point out the spoof page on the University of Nigeria. Check out the courses.

                              They stopped playing...

I had another one where the story was that something to the effect that some bad guy had the writer's mommy hostage as she was the widow of the rich chief of the whatsituya tribe, and that they needed some form of payment to bribe some lower level lackeys of the bad guys to release mommy so she could sign over the title to the old dead guy's account to her son (the writer).

There was a bank and a safe deposit box and some other things in that story.

I wrote back and told him that it was his lucky day, I was just back with a group of mercenaries who had worked as security contractors in Iraq. I asked him for maps, the location of the nearest airfield with at least 2000 feet of runway, and pictures of the bad guy (so we knew who to kill), the mommy (so we knew who not to kill), and the bank with all approaches, so we could empty out the safe deposit box. I promised I could deliver 45 mercenaries with man portable and light vehicle mount heavy weapons, standard infantry weapons, and air transport in and out of the country within two weeks.

That was a bit of fun, but after an email or two, he went away also.

They've apparently gotten wise to the fact that a lot of people string them along and play back.
