No, not at 60fps. In actual fact, we're operating at resolutions well below 1920x1080 at this stage anyway. Nothing captures true 1920x1080. Nothing generates true 1920x1080. Nothing displays true 1920x1080.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

      • You were expecting the biggest proponent of Blu-Ray (Sony) to not have Blu-Ray, while the biggest proponent of WMV-on-standard-DVD (Microsoft) woudl have Blu-Ray...?
I expected Sony to hold the technology back from this part of the demand curve at the beginning, as has happened in almost all other technology launches. Sony is stealing a march on this one.

I expected Toshiba to give Microsoft a sweet deal to get HD-DVD on the 360, since it seems Toshiba is somewhat at a disadvantage with the current state of affairs and needs to change the momentum. Toshiba is probably providing the DVD mechanism for the 360 anyway.

            • Personally, I like the Revolution design the best, if only because it's the smallest and simplest design. It's the most practical. On the other hand, it looks too boxy.

Yeah. I'm hardly using any of my HD.

20 should be enough to keep me happy. I was going to be pissed if it shipped HD-less.

                  It'll also be the weakest.

I'd prefer a beefy system that's slightly larger.

                  • Yes, I imagine the heat budget is not very high for the system.

                    • On Revolution:
Nintendo’s next console turns the world of video games on its side: Due in 2006, the new console will be backward compatible with Nintendo GameCube. The console also will have downloadable access to 20 years of fan-favorite titles originally released for Nintendo 64, the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) and even the Nintendo Entertainment System® (NES). Players also can buy and add new levels and characters to games made specifically for the new console. The new console has 512 megabytes of on-board flash memory. A bay for an SD memory card will let players expand the internal flash memory.

The console’s stylish look houses a single, self-loading media bay for both 12-centimeter optical discs for new games as well as Nintendo GameCube discs. It will have wireless controllers, two USB 2.0 ports and built-in Wi-Fi capabilities. A number of Wi-Fi-enabled games will be ready at launch, and the new console will build on – and add to – Nintendo’s rich stable of star franchises. A new development architecture will accommodate both big-budget games as well as artistic, indie offerings designed to make sure that everyone from video game experts to newcomers find ways to share and enjoy the gaming experience.
Nintendo's webcast so far has been very embarrassingly bad...

The "Nintendogs" started unexpectedly humping, which was great.

Edit: They just announced the "Gameboy Micro". A smaller GBA...

                      • They just showed off the Revolution. Apparently it'll be even SMALLER when it's released...

                        Haha...

                        • No real details on the specs of Revolution. The audience collectively groaned.

                          Controllers will be shown "later".

Super Smash Brothers Online will be a launch title.

                            • You can download all NES through N64 games through Nintendo's online service, and play Gamecube games with the disc.

That would be more impressive if free emulators/ROMs weren't so common place.
