If you go in only expecting it being entertaining, it may be .

BTW, Imran is clearly right about nearly everything. Although I wouldn't say AOTC is "close" to Return of the Jedi. It's inferior, period. It has some good moments, but a lot of dumb stuff.
Thanks... though I guess I think of AotC as better than most people because I seperate out the romance parts. When you do that, its a pretty decent movie. Yoda's lightsaber battle just makes the movie rock at the end, as well.

The films below are listed with their production year, so for example the Oscar awarded in 2000 went to the Best Picture in 1999.

The romance definitely ain't what I like about AotC. Good girl likes bad boy = not really good girl. And yes, it's also just plain poorly written/ poorly acted. I don't like the notion that Anakin is still basically good after the Tusken incident either. I liked the Lars family stuff, and the Dooku/ protoempire stuff. The latter is good enough for me. Too bad I didn't watch the IMAX version. Maybe RotS will have an IMAX version?

you can't separate out the cheesy parts. It's part of the movie.

Actually, that would make Titanic into an amazing 3 minute movie . Those scenes of the ship sinking were amazing.

I guess in the end, it depends if you consider a good movie to just be one that is entertaining or a good movie to have some artistic value.
