                  You may disagree with his positions, but I find it dispicable the way some of you people are attacking him. I don't think his beliefs are a whole lot different than many religious progressives here in the US.

                        News updated here half an hour ago: The Pope's condition has deterioated further, and Italian media report that he has lost consciousness. The Vatican is saying the situation now looks very grave.

                        I also read earlier that JPII had himself made a conscious decision not to be hospitalized anymore.

                        For the sake of his devoted followers, I hope this will not drag on much longer.

                          I don't think his beliefs are a whole lot different than many religious progressives here in the US.
                          Calling homosexuality and birth control in almost all forms is progressive?
