Just for the record, here is a clip from Judge Greer's original opinion. He did not credit the testimony of Michael as he considered that Michael did have adverse interests. He concluded that Terri's statements to her mother and friend that they should have left Karen Ann Quinlan tupe in, were not reliable as to her current intent as they occured when she was 11 or 12. Then he conclued with the following, all of which were circumstances such as a coma and/or a ventilator that were different from the Quinlan case, to conclude what Terri would have wanted under Quinlan circumstances. Clearly the Judge was wrong in that what Terri would have wanted under the Quinlan circumstances was disputed and was not clear and convincing.

That is why they are doping her up. Starving to death apparently isn't all the fun its cracked up to be. Your body has to be really ****ed up before not having food or water is the least of your concerns.

The first one is interesting, as the woman was a vegetable for 70 whole days..wow, 70. I like this quote:

So the woman here was NOT in a state that had anything to do with being in a persistant vegitative state.

Thats right, she was incorrectly diagnosed with PVS, now, where is the MRI that proves beyond any doubt that Terri is in PVS?

I think thought there is a bit of a difference between 70 days and 15 years.

Well I am somewhat curious why there was never a PET scan (I know whay an MRI was never done), given that they provide a better picture than a CAT scan alone when diagnosing brain damage.

It is interesting that the Judge noted in his original opinion that Terry may have some of her cerebral cortex left. This week, the judge rebuffed evidence that Terri could talk, etc., by noting that she could not survive without the tube. The judge seems to be hard and fast on the position that Terri is PVS regardless of whether she is conscious and can communicate.
