    • Ned doesn't understand the concept of - pause for effect - common sense applying in a court of law, especially when it can be applied to the case in question.

      • Terri's father said she looks like a concentration camp victim.

Yep, you guessed it, that makes Michael Schiavo Hitler.

Yet it amazes me some people believe what her parents say.

Surely posters like Ned are trolling. That's the only logical explanation.

        • Dissident - I may be wrong, but I don't believe so. There are groups of people out there who agree with Ned. Since Ned has a tendency to repeat the main talking points of some of those groups, I strongly suspect he is one of those people who tend to change their believes to match those espoused by that group with whom they identify. Ned is quite smart, and can be very adept at justifying those talking points. Get him away from them - or those topics - and he is a very knowledgable, reasonable person. Get onto those topics and the problem is that he continues to be knowledgable, just not reasonable. And since reasonable is a totally relativistic term (as is common sense, compromise, etc) well....

                • Why do they check a soon to be executed convinct to see if his all right? Why do the disinfect the spot where they are about to insert the lethal injection?

                    • I am saddened by the unnecessary suffering and pain inflicted by the government upon the Schiavo family and friends above and beyond that which is already unavoidable in such a horrible situation.

As Terri passes let us resolve ourselves against intrusive government and extremist political groups. Each of us bear some part of the responsibility for this. We, the people, have a job to do. We have to step up our political awareness and activity a notch and speak out.

Oh, really, I thought politics had nothing to do with it?

I am waiting for Jeb to try and take in a glass of water. Maybe he could take a few loaves and some fish.
