I'm right in the middle of the Greenland Viking chapter. I was also pretty impressed by the Pacific culture stuff... very well written and concisely explained. Diamond is an excellent writer.

I really need to start reading "The Hitchhiker'S Guide to the Galaxy". I got it for Christmas (well, early January), but I haven't started yet. I have to get a move on if want to finish it before the movie premiere.

For now I'm reading "Interaction Design: beyond human-computer interaction" for an HCI course. The exam is next week and I'm only halfway through it. Augh!

Have you reached the food poisoning from bad fish bit ?

It was so tenuous, I was frankly aghast.

But the Pacific deforestation and knife's edge island resources bit was very disheartening and extremely convincing.

You guys read boring and crappy books. Then again, it says about a man who reads crappy books. That man is crappy.

I don't read? Understatement of the year. **** I read, didn't you see, I even have my OWN BOOK! So what do you have to show? Nothing. You have nothing, and you are nothing. You will never have anything and you will always be a nobody and when you die, no one will remember you, let alone miss you.

Haven't read the food poisoning bit yet. I'm quite interested to find out how he'll relate all of the case studies to the present day, and what he thinks we should do. Very sobering to think that western civilizations haven't been around for very long at all compared to many others.

Google says no such book exists, therefore you do not read.
