  • While I understand their position, that's what makes it fun!! Why else have stages?
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?

    • Yeah, I'd rather see Chelsea-Barc and Milan-ManU this round so we wouldn't have gotten some boring matchups. Makes the tourney more interesting.

      • Nah, sod that. It's a knockout competition. We shouldn't rig it so only 8 teams have a chance in any year. It's fun when underdogs make it really far in the competition. Last year was great with Monaco and Porto.

Indeed. Give those teams a chance and not try to doom them. No one has a 'right' to the final 8.

If they wanted that, they could do that European Super-League they've been talking about.

            • They do want that, they've trying for years now. The trouble is, who's in and who is not.

The other point being that it is better to be king or even prince in one's own country than a mear peasant in Europe. No one likes a loosing team, even at the highest level.

No, I know that... but they shouldn't screw with the Champions League. If they want to just play the best in Europe every week... there is an option open to them.

                      • Campbell is still a good player but has past his best days at Spurs. He's slower, probably because he carries more muscle now and runs a lot less at Arsenal.

After the season Terry had he should replace Campbell, but i can guarantee Sven wont do it, just like he kept Seaman in the team long after he shouldve been blooding a younger keeper. He thinks we'll collapse or something without these regulars, if theyre not playing well you drop them, its as simple as that.

                        • Always go for the players on form, certainly when there's little that seperates them.

i know you support them but how can you say that campbell's best football has been played at spurs and keep a straight face?

                            • Are you saying hes faster more agile player at Arsenal? His footballing brain may have improved slightly, but that hasnt compensated for his lost accelleration and pace. Im saying he was a better defender at Spurs, he has less responsibility at Arsenal, less pressure, and i think that has changed his game for the worse.

                              • he's got a bit slower, but he's hardly laurent blanc , his footballing brain, his awareness, position etc. has improved a lot, and i think this more than makes up for any loss of pace.

but i suppose neither can claim to be unbiased on this issue
