Yeah, often one of the quick lunches I pack up for myself at work, pasta, pesto and a bit of cheese sprinkled on top...easily made in a hurry and just needs to be zapped in a microwave...

You should probably go and get some milk too.
Yeah, I never understood why roommates wouldn't share simple things like milk. If you don't you end up with three or four of everything and the fridge isn't big enough to hold it. My roommates and I kept a common horde of the simple stuff and each shopping trip we'd just divy up the bill equally. It was easy enough and no one abused it by eating everything without pitching in some other way. All in all it worked well.

I also tend to cook at home rather then eat out in order to save money. I guess I inherited a neurosis from my mother where I always have to keep my fridge full of food.
I can´t share milk, butter or marmalade and stuff with other people. Some people are just so sloppy and drinks out of the carton and uses dirty spoons and knives so that there´s butter in the marmalade or liver paste in the butter (yuck!)
Dry goods are ok to share, small chance of contamination

The other fridge, where produce and some leftovers are stored. We usually throw out mystery food after a couple of weeks, it looked a lot worse a few days ago.
