We actually did switch the door in our last place. It was opening with the hinges on the right, but it made more sense the other way, so we changed it. Easy process that took no more than five minutes and one screwdriver.

Edit: Although I'm not sure you can do this on Euro-style fridges. My brother has one and I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be able to change it around.

I would have posted a picture of an empty fridge but I thought it best not to be so down...

... after all, my freezer is full.

Of course bread should be refrigerated, it stays fresh longer!

Nonsense - a bread bin keeps it fresher much better than a fridge.

Bread gets eaten fast enough around my house where we don't refrigerate it. I also don't see why vinega or oil would be in the fridge unless it is just to make the fridge look fuller. If a cabinet doesn't have room for a bottle of oil then it must be reeeeeeaaaaalllllllyyyyyy small.

breadbins? What kind of commie nonsense is that!? Honestly, I have never seen a breadbin being sold in this country.

I refrigirate my bread- I also toast it, so being cold is not an issue.

My fridge is too well stocked to be part of this race to the bottom.

Hmm, so far I still win gold on the most empty fridge.

Oh, keep fruits in your fridge but seperate them ( do so too when not in fridge)

I bought a new fridge which was actually delivered just today. Not much of a point in posting a pic, since it's currently still completely empty...

European fridges are the same. All but the cheapest models AFAIK.

Judging by the bread you have in the US, that's understandable. In other parts of the world, bread is made up of more things than air and preservatives.

                              Bah!

I agree, that's true in most of the US, but I live two blocks away from a bakery, and there are plenty of places in NYC to buy world class bread. And yet, in none of the fancy food stores in this megalopolis have I seen a bread bin.
