But once the battle began, it looked terrific, but the emotion drained out.
My favorite line is when the Prussian courier, soaked with rain, bursts into the British ballroom, eyes crazed with panic....the Duchess of Wellington spots him and comments coolly, "That man will spoil the dancing."

Captain Horatio Hornblower Good movie, although it only captured a shadow of the greatness of the three novels upon which it was based. Gregory Peck was superb!
I'm probably one of the few that liked Daniel Day Lewis's Last of the MohicansWith or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

Not a war movie, not a great movie, but I liked Stripes, Bill Murray in the army comedy.
Band of Brothers
Midway anecdote: saw this when I was a kid, it was in Sensurround, where they had some large bass speakers added to the theater. Early afternoon showing was sold out, so we got tickets to a late afternoon show, and went and saw Bambi. We could hear the sounds of Midway from the adjacent theater, sort of funny hearing all the explosions in the background of a Disney movie.
I don't believe the tanks in Kelly's Heroes were actually Tigers, but at least they made the effort of making them look like Tigers.
Das Boot anecdote: saw this when I was in college, showed in a large auditorium, which was packed, and the heat was on too high. So afterwards, I felt hot, sweaty, and emotionally drained - it was great atmosphere for a sub movie. Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety. - Ben Franklin
